The warm, crisp, clear sound of the Audio Fidelity 24 karat gold CDs make your ears happy. The Doors are now part of their catalog of offerings.

The classic The Soft Parade broke new ground for The Doors and rock music as a whole by orchestrating some of their songs. “Touch Me” was a perfect example of that cross pollination of genres and the results were tremendous. Again Audio Fidelity takes one great album and makes it better with their process.

Deep Purple was a rock heavyweight back in the 1970’s. They went toe to toe with the progenitors of metal Black Sabbath for supremacy of that genre. Eventually Ozzy and the boys would win that battle but Deep Purple went through many different incarnations over time and they would evolve into something else. I fondly recall reading all of those Circus Magazines asking the question who was best.

The band known as Alice Cooper (before Furnier gathered the name unto himself) led up to a very popular album that contains the anthemic “School's Out,” with a very well-defined set of albums (the virtually unknown Easy Action, and Pretties For You (re-packaged in the '70s as School Daze), and the maturing and influential Love It to Death, and Killer).  School's Out was wrapped within a theme that became standard operating procedure for the band (and the persona after the demise of the band).  The collection of songs were great, were memorable, and is still a favourite

Now this is rock music! Yeah baby! This is a one of kind album and it still stands up today as one of the rock classics of all time. The self-titled Montrose album came roaring out if the gates in 1973 and 32 years later Audio Fidelity has flattered this rock gem by releasing it on 24KT Gold Disc.

Audio Fidelity continues their Gold CD reissues with a classic Montrose debut that introduced Sammy Hagar and Ronnie Montrose along with Montrose members Denny Carmassi on drums and Bill Church on bass, to an early ‘70s audience who appreciated their testosterone-based rock and overt sexual overtones. Montrose, the band, unleashed their big rock sound, at times Zeppelin-like, to favourable reviews moving on to produce an arguably better release with their 2 nd LP, Paper Money.

The Doobie Brothers produce a tight brand of lite rock that utilizes horns and keyboards along with the most recognizable part of the band—Michael McDonald’s voice. People usually either love ‘em or hate ‘em. I have to admit that I find some of the music to be a little lightweight, but then there are other songs that are classics like “What a Fool Believes.”

The Faces’ A Nod is As Good As a Wink…to a Blind Horse represent The Faces at their finest moment in the history of their all too brief career. While they went on to produce another fine album with Ooh La La, none of the band's output captured the heart of the band as stupendously as A Nod…did. This album contains all the promise of an up and coming band with none of the internal conflicts that inevitably find their way through final albums.
